| Hot
Toddy, the Fredericton based roots and blues trio,
mixes a strong blues base with a sweet blend of roots and jazz.
This creates a unique range of acoustic and electric sounds
accentuated by downright mischievous lyrics that astonish and
delight both Canadian and European audiences. The band, made
up of Tom Easley - double
bass; Thom Swift - acoustic
guitar, dobro; and Joel
LeBlanc - electric guitar, harmonica
are men of unchartable energy & incomparable talent. |
Critics
have said that on their latest release the New Brunswick trio
eases through each number with a rightness that reeks
of sincerity and dedication to the muse. Hot
Toddy show that Canadian roots run very deep.
(NOW Magazine, Toronto)
They take the blues as their starting point but then weave
it through music that is earthy, rootsy and full of groove.
Even though the idea of the Maritime Kitchen Party is clichéd
there is no getting around applauding those who do it well.
And Hot Toddy do it best
(Atlantic Coast, Halifax). |

| Isaac
& Blewett (Alma NB) are
one of Atlantic Canadas most respected musical acts. They
have been a part of the east coast music scene since 1996 and
have garnered three ECMA
and one Maple Blues nomination.
Tims electrified cello
blends beautifully with Jims
arch top guitar and banjo to produce something wonderfully unexpected. |
This
duo from the Fundy shore have the reputation of pushing the
parameters of the unexpected.
Their show is an interactive journey where music mixes itself
with impromptu anecdotes of the group. They play like two backwoods
boys, having a kitchen party on stage, playing an infectious
mellow groove. |
